The national seminar on the wetland environment of 2017 held on November 11, 2017 is a scientific meeting place organized by the Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM) Lambung Mangkurat University, as a forum of interaction, collaboration and integration between researchers, educators and practitioners. Through this national seminar is expected to contribute positively to the progress of science in Indonesia, especially the field of research based in wetlands and applied science. The seminar entitled “The Potential, Opportunities and Challenges of Sustainable Environmental Management of Wetlands” presents three main speakers:

  1. Prof. Dr. Ir. Chafid Fandeli, MS (Forest Resources Conservation Expert, Professor of Faculty of Forestry, MIPA UGM)
  2. Prof. Sutiman Bambang Sumitro, MS, D.Sc (Cell Biology Expert and Nano Biologi, Professor of Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Universitas Brawijaya)
  3. Prof. Dr. Ir. Mochammad Arief Soendjoto, M.Sc (Flora Conservation Expert and Fauna, Professor of the Faculty of Forestry, University of Lambung Mangkurat)

The national seminar of the wetland environment is the third seminar since 2015. The number of papers received and presented are 152 with topic of study covering Agriculture and Food Security, Health and Medicine, Biodiversity and Biotechnology, Natural and Environmental Conservation, New and Renewable Energy , Law and Policy, Social, Economy, Arts and Culture, Education and Learning. Participants include from 33 institutions. On this occasion, Dr. Ir. Bambang Rahadi Widiatmono, MS participating as a speaker with the title of the paper is “Impact of Reservoir Construction in Protection Forest on Environmental Supporting Capacity”.
